Our next meeting will be on January 13th at 10am at Kathy's house (she's kindly offered to host it as the room at the children's centre is booked out on this date, and there aren't very many of us around on the 6th). Directions to Kathy's house are in the box full of "Can Any Mother Help Me" ; our reading selection for January. Thanks to Kathy for the offer! Cold-ridden child permitting I'll update the blog with our thoughts on "Running for the Hills" tomorrow.

I hope you can make it for a little while next tues. Thursday would be my preference for going to the courtyard as we might be away for half term (from the friday)

Hi there everyone and a happy new year. That's interesting about the Courtyard, it would be great to organise a trip! The Tuesday would suit me too, if it's going to be half term.
If anyone is having trouble finding directions to Kathy's email me on connollyliz@eircom.net
Don't worry if you only make it for a short time, Gill, it's hard to fit everything in!
See y'all Tuesday -

Liz
I think you mean to say Thursday suits you too (and the production ain't on Tuesday anyway!)
I think it's the 12th (Thurs) to the 14th.
Foursight Theatre is a great company (did I say that already) and their works are always contemporary and upbeat.
Anyway - we can discuss on Tuesday when we meet (I may invite a friend along who's a midwife incase I go into labour (if that's OK?!) - to the show, not Cathy's house...

The midwife is most welcome to my house but presumably you aren't expecting to be quite that early!

Since getting back from Christmas and New Year I hardly know what day it is now anyway!!
Midwife is probably a good idea, Julie, and at least in Hereford you're not too far from the hospital..unless you're hoping for a home birth!!

Someone left their 'floral friends' floppy dog/ rabbit (!?) at my house. Happy to post it home if that is of any help.

Hello Liz,
I have booked 4 tickets for the Thursday 12th 7.30pm production of CAMHM. They are under my name - Bullock - and they are free! I have a sponsorship arrangement through my work so I have decided to use the tickets for this purpose!! So please don't buy a ticket yourself and can you get this message to Kathy and I'm sorry I don't recall the pregnant lady's name. It is row H and one of them is an end seat (for loo visits if she needs them!!). It's no problems if she can't make it that day.
I'll put this on the blog too.
Thanks
Gill
PS I have just realised that "Doggy in a Frock" is Anna's. Can I call in and pick it up tomorrow. I'm planning to go to Bounce and Rhyme so it would be before then or after...

You probably won't read this in time but I'm planning to go to bounce and rhyme too so if you haven't picked it up by then I will take it with me!
Well done for the free tickets - that is excellent!
I was thinking about Jules's comment about lots of the women in the book having paid help for cooking, cleaning etc. Actually I found it quite reassuring that these women weren't so perfect and able to cope with everything. They admitted that they hated housework and were able to pay to avoid doing some of it - I can't really criticise them for that as I hate it too and if I could afford to pay someone to do it all then I'd be right there with them! -

Fair enough Kathy; perhaps I just envy them! But I still feel a record of this type should be more inclusive - although in this case the material was such that it was exclusive from source so not the author's fault.
Thank you so much for sorting tickets for us Gill; and for accommodating my current shortcomings - only prob is that my friend (Julia, the midwife) already got me a ticket
with hers (annoying cos obviously not free) but I'd feel rum to let her down, so hopefully
either someone else will need it (is there anyone else? Are we now 'the group'?)
or the CY will credit your freebie somehow. Chris would probably enjoy coming along (my
husband) but then I think it's a good girls night.
I'll stop rambling.
Jules

I mentioned the trip to Shelly who hasn't been for a while, and then felt bad that she would have to pay and we wouldn't. If I could offer her the freebie then that would be good. She may not be able to go though so I'll keep you posted!

Hello There,
I'm Gill and I was able to come along to the meeting about The God of Small Things. I've just finished Can Any Mother Help Me and I'm itching to discuss it...but I have to be in Storridge for 11.20ish on Tuesday next week. If little Anna's nap can be withheld or brought upon her early then I will try to come along to the first half hour or so of the meeting if it wouldn't be too disruptive (and talk really quickly!!). Knowing how things are though and how when I try to fit lots in less gets done...I may not see you next Tuesday in which case I will aim to put some thoughts down on the blog. I'm really keen to go to the Courtyard production - I didn't dream it that I saw it written comewhere about going to see it...? I'm free definitely on the Thursday, and poss the other dates.
Gill
